Baron Cimetière

Baron Cimetière (known as Papa Legba to the Sims of Forgotten Hollow) is a powerful trickster deity and ruler of cemeteries. For millennia, his interactions with mortal Sims was limited to his mind-numbing work reaping souls in lands such as Oasis Springs, Strangerville, Forgotten Hollow, and Moonwood Mill. All that changed when he met Blakeley Keller-Hollow.

Blakeley, a supernatural fanatic, was smitten with the mysterious visage of death which had visited her family so frequently. A hasty but passionate romance developed between the two as the Baron continued to do his work in the land of the living. Inevitably, Blakeley fell pregnant, and suddenly, Baron Cimetière had a reason to escape the Netherworld. When Blakeley died while the child was but an infant, he saw an opportunity for power.

The Baron's one true heir, Ixie de Legba (known legally as Ixie Goth-Hollow), was taken from his family to be raised on the outskirts of Strangerville. Baron Cimetière took advantage of the townspeople's unfamiliarity with the Lwa of voodoo, and he concealed his true identity as a trickster deity of death. He took the name Papa Legba, effectively disguising himself as a much friendlier and more powerful deity, one the Sims of this world were more likely to trust. He dutifully raised Ixie to be a powerful being, denoting him as ruler of chaos and pleasure. As Ixie grew up, though, he began to question their strange way of life, so Baron Cimetière (now known as Legba) retreated further.

Having heard legends of this world's bloodsuckers, Papa Legba sought out the Master Vampire of Forgotten Hollow, Vladislaus Straud IV. He studied vampire magic from Vlad, and in return taught him the basics of voodoo. To seal their pact, Vlad turned Legba into a vampire, only furthering his strength and power. Not long after, Legba had a grand palace built in Forgotten Hollow, and he moved his family out there, far from any sort of "normal" civilization.

But Legba wasn't content to be close to master power, he wanted full control. Thus, his plan to overthrow Vlad as ruler of the Hollow began. Legba began enslaving Sims as Cattle, keeping them in a dungeon he had secretly built. He fed off their plasma and used them to conceive children, hoping to build a powerful hybrid lineage unlike anything that had ever walked the earth. He even recruited Lilith Vatore to his cause, courting her and eventually taking her as a wife, to ensure that 'twere it come to war, he would have their family's support. All the while, he was cold toward Ixie and continued to abuse innocent Sims for his own gain. As Ixie reached adulthood and developed his own values and ideas about the world, he knew that he did NOT want to be heir to a kingdom designed by his father.

With the help of his human brother Lee, Ixie learned everything he could about the Netherworld, becoming a more and more powerful medium, until at last he was able to conjure his mother's spirit permanently. After a lifeftime of loneliness, being raised by the twisted Baron in disguise, Ixie was reunited with his mother. Although she was distressed by being pulled from her eternal slumber, Blakeley understood why she had been brought back, and she agreed to help her sons overthrow "Papa Legba" once and for all.

And it worked. Once Ixie reached adulthood, he was powerful enough to defeat Legba in a vampiric duel. By their sacred royal agreement, Legba was dethroned and exiled from the palace. Ashamed, Legba retreated to the manor of his old friend and mentor Vladislaus. The two friends-turned-rivals agreed to set their differences aside, in hopes to restore traditional vampire rule to the Forgotten Hollow.

In the years since Papa Legba moved into the Straud manor, Ixie has been a benevolent (if not unstable) leader. Rejecting the strict religious practices of his father, he founded the Mystic Order of the Hollow Practitioners. His sect, combining the practices and folklore of all the world's occults, has become so popular that even Vlad has betrayed Papa Legba by becoming a member of Ixie's sect. It seems that all of Legba's schemes for power and control have been dashed by his prodigal son. In the aftermath of it all, he has turned his attention toward building a better relationship with his younger children, Lulabelle and Narcissus de Legba, in hopes that the next ruler of the legacy will be more favorable toward him...
