Ixie Goth-Hollow (de Legba)

Born to a young, psychologically frail human and the Lwa of Death itself, Prince Ixie is a powerful deity of chaos and pleasure. He was raised by his mother Blakeley in Strangerville until his early childhood. His early life was simple and happy. Despite her immense emotional issues, Blakeley was a loving mother who raised Ixie alongside her half-brother Lee. Ixie and Lee grew up as inseparable brothers until Blakeley's premature death.

After Blakeley's death, Ixie was sent to live with his birth father, the evil Baron Cimetière. Ixie, Lee, and the Baron lived in a lonely castle on the outskirts of Strangerville, and Ixie was kept from befriending any other children. He spent his time studying vampirism and the occult, looking up to his cruel and distant father. His utter adoration for the Baron, who was now using the name Papa Legba, caused much tension between Ixie and Lee, and the two began to grow apart. The teenage Lee was concerned with social status and having a "normal" life. Little Ixie, however, only wanted his father's approval. He dreamed of the day he would be old enough to be turned into a vampire, even knowing it would be at the cost of any chance at a normal life.

One day, unable to fight his curiosity any longer, Ixie snuck into the secret apartment that his father had built beneath the castle grounds. There, he discovered his half-siblings Narcissus and Lulabelle, as well as their human mother Cadence. Ixie immediately took a liking to Cadence, as her warmth and humanity reminded him so much of his mother, whose memory was slipping further and further from him by the day. Ixie began spending hours and hours in the dungeon with Cadence, carefully keeping their meetings secret from Papa Legba. Ixie grew to love Cadence, and he could not understand why his father was so intent on hurting her. He didn't understand why his siblings had to be raised in darkness, while he slept in the palace and lived as royalty. The more time he spent with Cadence, the more he grew to resent his father. When he reached teenhood, he allowed himself to be changed by Papa Legba, but he began to teach himself vampire magic in secret. He no longer trusted the system of beliefs he had been raised on.

As a teen, Ixie grew into a powerful vampire and spellcaster, raised under the guidance of his birth father. During this time, Ixie rebuilt his relationship with Lee, and the two desperately wanted to overthrow their oppressive father. They knew they could not do it alone, so after much discussion, Ixie made the decision to raise their mother from the dead.

Ixie was successful in summoning Blakeley's spirit. Their mother, overjoyed at the chance to watch her sons grow up, agreed to help them overthrow Papa Legba. The three of them were successful, and Ixie was able to take his rightful place as the new leader of the Legacy de Legba. As their adventures drew to an end, Blakeley moved into the palace to be with Ixie and Lee once again as a family. As soon as he was powerful enough to do so, Ixie gifted Blakeley with full humanity, fully releasing her from the Netherworld. Blakeley was happy with her new chance at life, finally able to raise her boys with the humanity and compassion they deserved.

Prince Ixie was on track to become a kind and benevolent ruler like the people of Forgotten Hollow had never before seen. He erected a holy cemetery on the palace grounds, so that fallen members of the coven could properly rest and be honored. He freed Cadence from the dungeon and took in her children as his wards, officially crowning them as members of the royal family. He continued to learn new forms of magic, encountering other occults and communing with spirits of all sorts. He became known as a powerful medium, even a prophet. It was not long before Ixie set his sights on religious revolution.

The Legacy de Legba had always been built on a strict voodoo practice, under the guidance of the Lwa themselves. Ixie had never felt particularly connected to the Lwa, though, and he found he became more powerful AND more happy the more he engaged with other deities. Through his experiences learning everything he could about ghosts, werewolves, vampires, and plantsims, Ixie found himself with a calling. He was meant to establish a new church.

Initially founded as a branch of Voodoo, the Hollow Practitioners are now more commonly considered to be a sect of the Church of the Treaders of the Occult. Although their practices lean heavily on the magic of vampire-spellcasters, the Hollow Practitioners are made up of sims from all occults, and the goal of the church is to unite all magical sims under a united front. An admirer of eclectic folk magick, Ixie honors any sort of mystical practice as part of the church.
